How to Sponsor a Hound by Subscription

The cost of operating our kennel is rising yet again.  The price of kibble has risen about 25% since we opened the kennel in 2000, and medications have gone up even more.  Our cost per dog per month is now hovering around $25, not counting anything extra that might be needed.  That figure basically just keeps a dog fed and free of parasites (worms, fleas, etc).  The struggle to keep up with the daily support drains our resources, so that when special needs arise there are often no extra funds to cover them.  Our emergency account is usually empty.  

Several of our "inmates" are senior or special needs hounds.  Their stays with us tend to be longer and their needs are often greater.  Occasionally one lives out his/her life here.  That's okay.  It's not what we want for them, but they're safe and loved, which is more than a lot of dogs ever get.  Our special hounds are designated with halos beside their names.

You can help by choosing a Greyhound to sponsor by subscription through PayPal.  It's very simple. First you choose an un-sponsored hound below.  Type in his/her name and then just click on the "I Want to Be An Angel" button.  You will be automatically billed $20.00 through PayPal once a month until your chosen hound is adopted.  At that point your subscription will be cancelled.  You are welcome to sponsor a new hound after your first one is adopted, or to sponsor more than one at a time.  And of course you are free to cancel your sponsorship subscription at any time.

What do you get for your sponsorship subscription?  

• A wallet size picture and a larger (5x7-ish) picture of your sponsored hound.  These may not be "normal" frame or wallet sizes due to the way they were cropped for use on our website before we started the sponsorship program.  But we'll make them as close as we can.

• The Angels Newsletter with updates about all of our adoptable hounds, sponsored and un-sponsored.  This comes out sporadically.  

• An Angel T-shirt (after 3 continuous months of sponsorship).

• An Angel certificate.

• Your name on the "Angels Board" in our kennel.  After one year of continuous sponsorship (does not have to be for the same dog), your name will be put on an engraved plate on a permanent plaque in our kennel.  Pictures will be posted here of the Angels Board and the permanent plaque when they are available.

• The opportunity to be put in touch with your sponsored hound's adopter so that you can continue to keep up with him/her if you choose.   

When we receive notification that you have subscribed as a sponsor, we will email you to ask  your  t-shirt size.
