GREYHOUND CARE AND HABITS
Or what to expect from your new Greyhound

First of all, this section is absolutely not meant to be a comprehensive guide to Greyhound care. It just touches on some of the basics you should be aware of before you adopt your first Greyhound. You should make an effort to educate yourself as much as possible on the subject by reading a variety of web pages, articles and books, a few of which will be listed at the end of this page. The more you know the healthier and happier your dog should be.

Greyhounds, wonderful creatures that they are, are fairly simple to care for. But they're NOT just like any other dog! They are sort of oddballs in the dog community, but once you're aware of their idiosyncracies you shouldn't find it any harder to care for a Greyhound than any other dog. However, it is vitally important that you AND YOUR VET are aware of these differences because ignorance of them can be deadly for your dog.

Since this section started getting a bit lengthy, it has been broken up into various parts for faster loading.
