| Update: |
King was in a foster home for a few weeks,
but apparently has some alpha tendencies that didn't sit
well with the dogs already in residence there. He's been
in our kennel for a few weeks now and so far has gotten
along fine with his kennel mates. But his heart is with
humans. 3/12/02 - King has gone home
as part of a pair of new Greyhounds. Sid is his
new brother.
5/18/02 - King and Sid have both been returned
because of separation anxiety problems. In King's case,
they didn't appear to be too severe, but he's lost three
homes now (the first two because of family problems not
his fault), so his ability to gain confidence in a new
family is fading. He needs other dogs around him, but
more importantly, he needs people with him much of the
time. He's fairly quiet, and while he does fine with
kids, he prefers the company of adults, especially women.
A stay-at-home mom or a retired person/couple would be
perfect for him.
12/18/02 - King was adopted again during the
summer, but has just come back once more. Because of
losing three previous families, his separation anxiety
has become severe. His last family was with him a lot of
the time, but there were no other Greyhounds. The other
family dog, a small one, just didn't do it for him. Now
King needs a home in which there will be people with him
most of the time, AND another Greyhound pal. He still
gets along fine with kids and does well with other dogs. He
appears to be losing his alpha tendencies and mellowing out
now.
