Comments: Moose is quite a character.  He was almost completely unsocialized when he arrived here.  We think he was about 18 mo old at the time.  He was frighteningly underweight and had a few pressure sores, yet he was still energetic, inquisitive and silly.  Now that he's healthy again he's a real nut! With people he's an absolute charmer.  He sits on his own and quickly learned to sit on command.  He also learned that sitting is a good thing to try when he wants something. <grin>  However,  he doesn't do well with other male dogs, especially black ones.  He does get along okay with the females.
He hasn't been cat tested yet, but we don't think he'll turn out to be cat safe.  We'll update if/when he's tested.  And because of his size and energy level, he's not a good choice for families with small children.  But a family with one or two female Greyhounds, a good sense of humor and a lot of patience could love this dog as much as he would undoubtedly love them.
We're hoping that when Moose is neutered it will alleviate some of his aggressiveness toward other males.  He's due to be neutered soon, and after he's had a few weeks for the hormones to work out of his system, we'll reevaluate him.
